GENERAL PRIORITY OF REGULATIONS

In situations of conflict with different regulations, the rules established by the Latin American Police and Firefighters Games (JLPYB) will always take precedence, and the decision of the Director of the JLPYB will be final.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Aspirants to the Latin American Police and Firefighters Games must meet the following requirements:

A) Work as police officers or firefighters in the public sector.
B) Have official training as police officers or firefighters.
C) Have policing or firefighting as their primary profession.
D) Work as a customs or prison administration agent
E) Serve as a security agent in an official service, prison administration, international organizations, etc.
F) In the case of being military, be liable to collaborate with security forces.
G) Be at least 18 years old on the first day of the Games.
H) In case of any doubt, the President of the JLPYB will make the final decision.

IMPORTANT:

Any person who has been treated as a “professional athlete” in the last 3 years cannot participate in the Games. A “professional athlete” is considered as someone duly accredited and remunerated as a police officer or firefighter, dedicating most of their professional time to training and competing in their sport. In case of doubt, it is necessary to contact the International Committee of the Games BEFORE registering.

NO EXCEPTIONS

Participants must present their current agency identification. If the agency identification does not include a photograph, individuals must also provide a photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, along with the agency ID, before completing the registration process at Host Registration. Once all requirements are met, participants will be officially registered for the Games and will receive their Athlete Accreditation. This accreditation must be carried at all times and must be presented during check-in at the sports venues before each day’s competition.

CONDITION FOR RETIREES

Any retired person who meets the participation requirements for the Games will be admitted. They must present some form of identification, such as an ID card or a letter from the corresponding organization.

AGE REGULATIONS

In general terms, there are three age divisions:
A) OPEN (18 to 39 years)
B) MASTER (40 to 49 years)
C) GRAND MASTER (50 years and older).

ADDITIONAL RULES REGARDING PARTICIPATION AGES

The valid age is the one a person has on the first day of the Games. Teams must compete in the category corresponding to the youngest member in their group.

INELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS

In the event that any participant, team captain, or coach allows a person who does not meet the requirements to join a team, the representatives of that team will be disqualified immediately from all Games events.

If it is discovered that any member of an eligible team has joined a team for which they do not meet the requirements, that team will be disqualified from the competition immediately.
